Senior Accountant

About the Position: Runway is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Senior Accountant. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to analyze and process complex data with a background supporting diverse portfolios. This is a salary-exempt, in-office position. Provide accounting setup and integration support for new concept openings; ensuring a seamless transition into ongoing financial operations. Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing within assigned portfolio; ensuring payroll is processed in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Complete the month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and account reconciliations. Prepare final monthly financial reporting packages for internal management. Collaborate with the accounting and operational leadership on the annual budgeting process. Assist with preparation of year-end 1099s and tax reporting. Review and approve accounts payable entries and credit card transactions prepared by staff accountants to verify proper coding and classification. Confirm that credit card expenses are treated appropriately for sales tax purposes. Review and oversee customer invoicing and collections efforts to ensure timely and accurate billing. Ensure proper sales tax treatment for all customer transactions. Maintain cash balances and oversee cash activity, including coordinating with other staff to ensure timely payment and high-quality input to accounting software Present multi-faceted information and financial reports, providing additional analysis and information as needed Coordinate with other staff to provide support for other finance and accounting projects Track business activities and prepare supporting information Prepare journal entries for payroll, depreciation, investments and other areas as needed Analyze and prepare recommendations to management on process improvement Perform other duties as required and necessary to accomplish goals and objectives Qualifications: Bachelors' degree in accounting or related field OR 10 years of progressive accounting experience Must be technologically savvy Strong technical skills, including knowledge and use of Accounting Software, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Access and Outlook Microsoft Office applications High attention to detail and accuracy Must be deadline focused and self-driven Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume team environment.
