Position Summary The Director of Facilities and Operations is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for overseeing campus operations, including facilities, IT, transportation, food service, security, vendor management, and capital projects for a growing Catholic high school. This role will lead operational planning and execution for the school's transition to a new campus while developing scalable systems, processes, and infrastructure to support continued growth. The Director ensures a safe, welcoming, and mission-aligned environment for students, faculty, staff, families, and visitors. Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Facilities and Operations manages operational staff and oversees complex projects, schedules, and logistics in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where systems and procedures continue to evolve. Key Responsibilities Campus Relocation & Capital Projects Lead planning and execution of campus relocation, facility setup, and occupancy readiness. Coordinate vendors, contractors, architects, technology partners, and school stakeholders. Manage construction, renovation, furniture, equipment, and technology installation projects. Facilities & Operations Oversee daily campus operations, maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.). Develop preventive maintenance, asset management, and work-order systems. Ensure operational readiness of all campus facilities and event spaces. Safety & Security Manage campus security operations, access control systems, emergency preparedness, and safety compliance. Coordinate inspections, drills, risk management initiatives, and contractor compliance. Transportation, Food Service & Events Oversee school fleet operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate food service operations and health and safety requirements. Support operational logistics for school events, meetings, performances, and community activities. Oversee IT operations through external technology partners and on-campus support. Manage operational budgets, contracts, purchasing, inventory, records, and compliance documentation. Develop policies, procedures, and systems that support organizational growth and efficiency. Leadership Recruit, supervise, and develop operations and facilities staff. Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners to advance strategic priorities. Promote a culture of professionalism, stewardship, service, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Familiarity with, or openness to, the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church, along with a commitment to building a vibrant organizational culture aligned with Cristo Rey’s mission and Catholic identity. Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant operational leadership experience. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in operations, facilities management, project management, logistics, construction coordination, or related operational leadership roles, preferably in a school or nonprofit environment. Demonstrated experience building and improving operational systems, processes, and procedures within a growing or evolving organization. Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage complex projects, operational systems, schedules, budgets, and competing priorities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, PowerSchool, and other operational or educational technology platforms, or the ability to quickly learn new systems. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills preferred. Ability to move throughout the campus and construction areas regularly. Ability to move, carry, push, or lift materials and equipment as needed. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of school operations and events. Ability to respond to campus operational needs and emergencies as necessary. Compensation and Benefits FLSA Status: Full time, Exempt Reports to: Principal Salary: $77,00-$100,000 commensurate with experience.
