Registered Nurse of BestResponse Intensive Crisis Center

FLSA Status : Exempt
Range : $60,000 to $63,000 per year. Personalized salary reflecting your related experience and academic/credentialed background.

Schedule : Flexible scheduling available across Days, Midday, Evenings, and Overnights, including Weekend options.

We offer a variety of shift lengths to fit your needs, including 7, 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts.

Crisis Differential - Earn up to $2,500 annually
Shift Differential - Earn an additional $1.00/hour for shifts from 4PM-12AM , and $1.50/hour for shifts from 12AM-8AM
Language Differential - Bilingual? Let us know during the hiring process, you may be eligible to earn an extra $1.25/hour

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Administers and documents administration of medications in case record.
Venipuncture for lab work as ordered by providers.
Assures accuracy and completeness of all case notes.
Conducts health monitoring quarterly for program recipients to include (but not limited to):
- Adult BMI Screening
Generic Health Monitoring (BP, R, Temp, etc.)
Tobacco use screening and smoking cessation counseling
Assures communicable disease risk assessments is done on all admitted consumers
Assists and recommends medical follow-up for individuals who have not had a physical exam within one year, assessment for need of physical exam and assists with scheduling of physical exam by medical provider.
Provides age appropriate medical screening and preventive interventions to adults and older adults.
Requests prior authorizations for medications.
Provides health monitoring service groups for minimum of 30 - 60 minutes
Assists in linkage to PCP, Health Home, or other community resources.
Through releases of information, communicates with community resources such as personal care physicians, insurance companies, and others involved in client care.
Works closely with staff consulting psychiatrists or providers.
May supervise student interns.
Maintains inventory of on-site store medications in compliance with NYS regulations.
Properly disposes of medical waste in compliance with NYS standards.
Completes all trainings required by the agency.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree from an accredited school for professional nursing and four (4) years of paid work experience as a professional nurse -OR- Bachelor's degree in professional nursing
Valid NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse.
2 years of experience working with children & families preferred.
Experience in mental health or substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.
Ability to work successfully in a team setting and fast paced environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Venipuncture skills preferred.
Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques preferred.
Valid NYS Driver's License.
Must have accredited NYS Defensive Driving course; or obtain within 15 days of hire and send certification of completion to Human Resources.
Must maintain active NYS Defensive Driving course every 3 years and send a copy of the new certification of completion upon expiration.
Must maintain valid vehicle inspection, registration, and insurance cards and send updated copies to Human Resources upon expiration.
