Software Engineering Manager

Salary: $195,000 - 257,500 per year Requirements:

• We can code for 3+ years in Go, Java, and/or JavaScript.
• We have hands-on management experience designing, building, and deploying secure, scalable products and services.

• We run the day-to-day operations of an engineering team, including requirements grooming, scrums, retrospectives, and team outings.
• We design, build, and maintain APIs, user-facing experiences, services, and systems.
• We provide technical and architectural guidance for development, design, integration, testing, and platform maintenance.
• We lead agile software processes and introduce best-in-class engineering practices.
• We partner with stakeholders to align team output with company goals, shape technology roadmaps, and set practical release timelines.
• We manage the full lifecycle of our teams, including mentoring, recruiting, training, development, coaching, and performance management.
• We represent the engineering team internally and communicate technical opportunities and constraints to other groups.
• We oversee technical debt to keep delivery predictable and minimize production incidents.
• We contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as part of our engineering management team.
• We coordinate execution with cross-functional teams across Circle.
