Planner, Designer, Developer, and Implementer for Security Plans and Programs

Job Description

Duties:

• Plan, design, develop, and implement security plans and programs to ensure the effectiveness of controls for the Reactor Fuel Security Program, Special Nuclear Material (SNM) and the Engagement Simulation Systems Program.
• Develop revisions to policy documents and instructions related to the installation security plan for conformance with the DEFUELING/refueling project mission.
• Plan and coordinate security program operations relative to the security forces that protect SNM and PSNS and IMF assets.
• Formulate and recommend contingency plans, policies and procedures to initiate actions based on indicated or anticipated needs and present recommendations, advice and assistance to the Fuel Security Officer (FSO).
• Conduct security training for upcoming RF/DF missions.
• Present an overview and review of security requirements, past problems, and proper protocol while working with security forces.
• Manage local SNM security program RF/DF Security Forces Training Program, including operations oversight for a special cadre of Refueling Officers/NSF Supervisors and Marine Corps Security Force (MCSF). May include unusual work hours.
• Monitor and evaluate responsible programs through surveillance, management reports, staff assist visits and direct the conduct of internal audits for compliance with higher authority directives and instructions.

Qualifications:

For the GS-11 level (entry grade): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the development of physical security plans and supporting the coordination of security training and drills to ensure compliance with physical security requirements for nuclear assets and shipyard facilities.

For the GS-12 (target grade): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, implementing, and evaluating physical security plans and training programs to protect Special Nuclear Material (SNM), nuclear refueling complexes, and other critical naval propulsion assets.
