Cardiovascular Outpatient RNCardiovascular Outpatient RN for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab: The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Manager, assesses, develops and implements plan of care given as well as the response measured from the exercise prescription. Additional responsibilities include patient education concerning cardiac and pulmonary risk factor reduction education, activity progression and dietary modification for adults 18 and older.Cardiovascular Outpatient RN for Heart Failure Clinic: The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Manager, utilizes knowledge and skills to provide direct age specific and culturally appropriate patient care for congestive heart failure patients using the nursing process based on knowledge of principles of growth and development, serves as a clinical resource, participates in patient and staff education, demonstrates leadership, and serves as a preceptor.Outpatient Heart and Vascular Center RN: The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Manager, assists in performance of several minimally invasive interventional and diagnostic cardiovascular procedures in our outpatient catheterization lab to include:Diagnostic imaging to determine if you have a narrowing or blockages of the peripheral vascular system.Interventional procedures to treat vascular conditions. These include:AtherectomyPeripheral AngioplastyChronic total occlusion (CTO) treatmentIntravascular ImagingVein ablationsStentsTransesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) to evaluate for structural heart disease, blood clots, changes in heart function, or arrythmias.CardioversionsImplantation or removal of subcutaneous rhythm monitors (Loop Recorders)In this role, the RN will be given extensive training due to the level of expertise required. Census ranges between 6 to 14 cases a day. Training will include Pre/Post procedure care as well intra-procedure care of patients. Record information accurately in the medical chart.Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary supplies.Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including ordering supplies.Assist with scheduling of tests and treatmentsScreens, manages, and follows up telephone messages from patients, referrals, and pharmacies.Prepare and send prescriptions electronically per provider's orders.Performs lab draws, EKGs per provider's orders.Explains patient's problems, medications, and procedures to patientProvide patient education regarding heart failure during patient appointmentsTeach weekly in person education class to patient and caregivers regarding heart failureUses printed handouts, booklets, samples, examples, and videos computer programs as applicable.Helps to maintain patient education material.
