Director of Support Services

Job Description

This is a Director Level Administrative position that reports to the Elmcrest Chief Financial Officer and meets regularly with the Chief Executive Officer and (quarterly or as needed) with the Building and Grounds Sub-Committee of the Board. The Support Services Director oversees the Maintenance and Food Service Departments providing them with the leadership necessary to ensure a level of performance that meets the needs of the organization. This is a 40 hour full-time benefit-eligible position.

Responsibilities:

·       The primary responsibility is to facilitate responsive and effective services that maintain fidelity to/with Elmcrest’s organizational mission and values.

·       The Support Services Director will evaluate departmental outcomes by using data. The Support Services Director will work with or seek out those tools and or departments necessary to support that evaluation effort.

·       The Support Services Director is responsible for establishing a Capital Budget that is aligned with the organization’s financial status and real estate asset preservation efforts. The Capital Budget should be consistent with the short and long-term needs of the organization.

·       The Support Services Director routinely meets with the Buildings and Grounds Sub-Committee of the Board and works together with sub-committee members on Capital Budget matters and the larger construction projects that the Agency may be involved with.

·       The Support Services Director is responsible for maintaining the necessary staffing levels that will deliver positive results relative to the primary responsibility. 

·       Meets regularly and works together with other senior managers and promotes an open and transparent management and team culture.

·       The Support Service Director meets regularly with Support Services Management (Maintenance Supervisor, Special Services Chef/Food Service Manager, and other related entities).

·       The Support Service Director is responsible for evaluating Support Service Management annually and at a greater frequency if deemed necessary. They will help their management staff develop sound management practices and proper record-keeping.

·       The Support Services Director monitors budgets, expenditures, and purchases related to the domain within Support Services.

·       The Support Services Director is responsible for monitoring the Contractor services utilized by the Agency (Lawn, Snow, Major Plumbing, Cleaning, Vehicle Repair, Roofing, HVAC, Sprinkler, Smoke/Fire Detection, etc.).

·       Provides counsel and support to Executive Leadership as requested and required.

·       All other responsibilities as they may be assigned by Executive Leadership or implied within the Support Services domain.

Qualifications:

·       5-10 years of progressively more responsible experience in facilities management and/or facilities maintenance.

·       Project management and planning experience and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

·       Other experiences that are consistent with managing staff and working with teams with multiple stakeholders.

·       Minimum Education: High School Diploma. College Degree Preferred.

·       Good Oral and Written Communication Degree.

·       Microsoft and Excel Competent

·       Office Administration Experience

·       Experienced with construction projects

Essential Job Qualifications:

·       Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
