Job Title: Control Panel Builder I (Electrical Control Panel Assembler)
Location: Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Pay Rate: $17.00 – $21.00/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Shift: 1st Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime on Saturdays as needed)
Position Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Control Panel Builder I (Electrical Control Panel Assembler) to assemble, wire, and test industrial electrical control panels according to engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical control panels and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Mount electrical components including:
- Circuit Breakers
- Relays & Contactors
- Terminal Blocks
- Power Supplies
- PLCs and Control Devices
- Enclosures and DIN Rail Systems
- Perform point-to-point wiring using:
- Electrical Schematics
- Wiring Diagrams
- Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Work Instructions
- Cut, strip, crimp, terminate, and label wires according to specifications.
- Route and secure wiring neatly within electrical panels.
- Verify completed assemblies against engineering documentation.
- Perform basic electrical testing and continuity checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams regarding assembly questions or discrepancies.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Experience using hand tools and electrical assembly tools.
- Understanding of electrical components and wiring practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable with the ability to stay focused on assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience assembling industrial electrical control panels.
- Familiarity with UL standards and electrical codes.
- Experience with wire labeling systems and cable management.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/Production environment.
- Frequent use of hand tools and electrical assembly equipment.
- Standing, bending, reaching, and light-to-moderate lifting throughout the shift.
