Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls regarding benefits, eligibility, and claims, providing accurate and empathetic support.

• Research and resolve benefit inquiries, coordinating with internal teams to identify root causes.

• Interpret and explain healthcare benefit plans, policies, and eligibility requirements to participants and external partners.

• Maintain and update participant records across claims and eligibility systems.

• Review documentation, verify information, and request additional records as needed.

• Coordinate claim adjustments, payment corrections, and reimbursement recoveries while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

• Explain medical, disability, life insurance, and weekly illness and injury benefits programs.

• Process stop payments, void requests, and other benefit-related transactions.

• Scan, index, and maintain documentation within electronic imaging systems.

• Collaborate across departments to support daily operations, cross-train, and improve processes.

• Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous call center, customer service, healthcare, insurance, or benefits administration experience preferred.

• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Outstanding organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfort handling confidential information professionally and discreetly.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Key Details

• Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

• Compensation: $18 – $20 hourly
