Executive Director

The client seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and visionary Executive Director to lead its next chapter of growth and impact for a youth soccer organization. Founded in 1982, the club serves thousands of young athletes and families across Lower Manhattan and beyond, with programs that may range from recreational participation to elite travel and academy opportunities for ages 3 through 19. The Executive Director will help strengthen operational execution and financial position during a transitional period, working closely with staff, coaches, families, players, and the Board of Directors. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure mission-driven, inclusive, and high-quality programming. This role will oversee organizational strategy, financial sustainability, fundraising and sponsorship development, staff leadership, community partnerships, and core operational systems. In partnership with the Board and staff, the Executive Director will shape the organization’s long-term vision, strengthen infrastructure, enhance player development pathways, and advance the overall experience for every player and family. Key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership aligned to the organization’s mission and long-term goals; partnering with the Board to develop and execute priorities and operational plans; leading and supporting staff, coaches, and program leaders with an emphasis on accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth; and overseeing finance functions such as budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and sustainability planning. The Executive Director will also expand and diversify revenue through fundraising, sponsorships, partnerships, grants, and earned-income opportunities; serve as an ambassador within the soccer community; strengthen relationships with players, families, alumni, coaches, and donors; manage operational systems including registration, scheduling, communications, staffing, facilities coordination, and vendor management; advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across programs and culture; and support effective Board engagement and governance through clear communication and alignment.
