Janitor

Responsibilities Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors in all areas of the Tribal Hall and Administration departments. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and restocking supplies. Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and surfaces. Empty trash containers and replace bags. Clean windows, entryways, and common areas. Maintain kitchen and food preparation areas clean. Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, ceremonies, and events. Monitor the facility for needed repairs and report maintenance issues promptly. Maintain outdoor surrounding areas such as entrances and walkways (sweeping, debris removal). Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures. Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain respect for Tribal traditions, ceremonies, and cultural practices conducted within the facility. Handle sacred or sensitive areas with care as directed. Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, senior community member, and Reservation information in compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and follow directions. Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks. Reliability and punctuality. Strong work ethic. Respectful communication and teamwork. Cultural awareness and sensitivity. Working Conditions May require evenings, weekends, or holidays based on community events. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying environmental conditions. Active, physically demanding role.
