Job Title: Finisher – Weekend Shift Job Description

The Finisher on the weekend shift prepares products to meet precise customer specifications by performing grinding, sanding, assembly, and inspection tasks. This role uses a variety of hand and power tools to finish metal components, supports machine operators during downtime, and maintains a clean and safe work area while handling materials that may weigh up to 55 pounds.

• Prepare products to meet customer specifications, ensuring all finishing requirements are completed accurately and on time.
• Use hand grinders to sand and grind down excess metal and achieve smooth, consistent finishes on parts.
• Perform assembly of products as needed, following work instructions and basic blueprints when applicable.
• Assist machine operators during downtime by helping with material handling, basic machine-related tasks, and workflow support.
• Use various hand and power tools, including grinders, sanders, polishers, and hammers, to straighten and finish parts.
• Inspect finished products and perform quality assurance checks to verify that parts meet required standards and specifications.
• Perform general cleaning duties in the work area to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment.
• Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 55 pounds as part of daily production and finishing activities.
• Support general production, manufacturing, and finishing operations as needed, including deburring, polishing, and kitting.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility rules.

• Prior experience using grinders, hand tools, and power tools in a production, manufacturing, construction, or similar environment.
• Comfortable using a hammer to straighten parts and perform basic mechanical adjustments on metal components.
• Ability to lift and handle items weighing up to 55 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with general production, general labor, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to perform grinding, sanding, polishing, deburring, and metal finishing tasks with attention to detail.
• Capability to inspect products and perform quality checks to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols, including wearing required protective equipment and adhering to dress code requirements.
• Ability to work on a weekend shift and support overtime as available.

• Approximately 3 months of prior production or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in general labor, machine operation, construction, or concrete work is beneficial.
• Familiarity with mechanical assembly, kitting, and basic blueprint reading is a plus.
• Experience with metal finishing, grinding, sanding, polishing, and deburring processes is advantageous.
• Comfort working with hand tools and power tools in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to contribute to inspection and quality assurance activities.
• Interest in learning multiple departments and developing broader manufacturing skills over time.

This role is based in a manufacturing and production facility that can be warm during the summer months. The environment involves regular use of grinders, hand tools, and power tools, as well as working around machine operators and metal finishing operations. Safety is a priority, and you must wear metatarsal boots and safety glasses while on the floor. The dress code is casual but requires no shorts or cut-off sleeves, ensuring appropriate coverage and protection in the work area. The setting supports overtime opportunities and offers exposure to multiple departments within a busy, hands-on production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Le Sueur, MN.

The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $23.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Le Sueur,MN.
