Senior Sterile Processing Technician

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

• Night 5x8-Hour shifts (19:00 - 03:30 and 21:30 - 06:00)
• Variable availability required, primarily covering the above shifts
• On-call shifts and weekend coverage may be needed

Job Description

The Senior Sterile Processing Technician will primarily work independently, requiring strong critical thinking and communication skills. This role involves ensuring the sterile processing department functions smoothly and efficiently, adhering to strict standards in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute the sterilization processes for surgical instruments and equipment
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and sterile processing protocols
• Assist in training and leading junior staff within the department
• Occasionally fill in as shift lead, based on departmental needs
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sterile processing
• At least 3 years in a shift lead, precepting, or team lead role in a hospital setting
• Certifications: BLS, CBSPD or HSPA required
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi, Getinge Autoclave, Amsco Autoclave, Steris V-Pro, and other sterilization and decontamination equipment
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted
