Oracle Cloud Platform Owner – OCI, Fusion & Enterprise Integrations

About the Role

Our client is not simply looking for an Oracle Cloud Architect to build a new environment and walk away; they are seeking a high-caliber leader to become the internal owner of the platform as the organization transitions from initial implementation into long-term, steady-state operational support.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between our external implementation partners and our internal teams. Approximately 70% of your time will focus on platform ownership and operational readiness , ensuring that the environment is scalable, integrations are sustainable, and the organization is fully equipped to support and scale the platform long after the consultants leave.

What This Role Really Focuses On

• 70% Platform Ownership & Operational Readiness: Evaluating long-term supportability, identifying operational risks, building runbooks, and driving knowledge transfer.
• 20% Architecture Review & Validation: Reviewing and auditing architecture produced by implementation partners to ensure long-term sustainability.
• 10% Future-State Design & Enhancements: Aligning the platform with upcoming enterprise needs and scalability standards.

Core Responsibilities

1. Platform Ownership & Governance

• Serve as our internal Oracle Cloud subject matter expert and trusted technical authority.
• Develop comprehensive operational readiness plans, support frameworks, and cloud platform best practices.
• Coordinate robust knowledge transfer activities with implementation partners to eliminate long-term external dependencies.

2. Architecture Validation & Oversight

• Review, validate, and audit cloud architecture designs produced by large system integrators.
• Challenge implementation assumptions and identify design, security, or performance risks when necessary.
• Ensure all cloud solutions align strictly with our long-term corporate enterprise standards.

3. OCI & Integration Leadership

• Provide hands-on leadership and technical oversight across OCI Compute, Networking, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Security Architecture, Connectivity, and Compartments.
• Lead integration architecture discussions within Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), with a heavy focus on enterprise HR and payroll integration initiatives.
• Provide strict governance across the Oracle Fusion ecosystem, including HCM, ERP, EPM, Financial Accounting Hub (FAH), and Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI).

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle Cloud Architecture, Cloud Engineering, or Enterprise Platform Leadership experience.
• Mandatory Certification: Active Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Certification is required.
• Deep OCI & OIC Expertise: Significant hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Integration Cloud patterns.
• Fusion Application Knowledge: Proven experience supporting and governing Oracle Fusion environments (specifically HCM, ERP, and EPM).
• The "Transition" Mindset: A proven track record of successfully guiding enterprise platforms through the lifecycle of Implementation ➔ Stabilization ➔ Production Support ➔ Internal Ownership .
• Vendor Management: Experience working alongside, collaborating with, and auditing large system integrators (e.g., Accenture, Deloitte, IBM, Cognizant, etc.).
• Infrastructure Chops: Strong expertise in cloud networking, security architecture, IAM, and cloud governance.
