Job Description
STARC Bridgeview is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to serve as key members of a multidisciplinary treatment team supporting individuals with serious mental illness. The selected candidates will deliver patient-centered and recovery-focused nursing services while promoting health, safety, and therapeutic outcomes through clinical assessment, care coordination, and ongoing treatment support.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration, and commitment to providing high-quality behavioral health services within a structured care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Nursing & Patient Care
• Provide direct nursing care and support for individuals receiving mental health services.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and evaluate patient conditions.
• Develop, implement, update, and monitor individualized nursing care plans.
• Coordinate care activities across interdisciplinary treatment teams.
• Observe, assess, and document patient symptoms, treatment responses, and changes in health status.
• Monitor medication effectiveness and report patient responses or adverse reactions.

Education & Care Coordination
• Provide health teaching, counseling, and patient education to individuals and family members.
• Promote recovery-oriented practices and support individualized treatment goals.
• Participate in treatment planning and continuity of care activities.

Infection Prevention & Safety
• Implement infection prevention and control protocols and ensure adherence to established procedures.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare safety standards and organizational policies.
• Support environmental safety and therapeutic care practices.

Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Support quality care delivery through compliance with nursing standards and agency requirements.
• Participate in required orientation, training, and clinical readiness activities.

Required Qualifications
• Active and unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License.
• Experience providing nursing services in behavioral health, psychiatric care, long-term care, acute care, or related clinical environments preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and patient care coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary treatment setting.

Background & Health Requirements
• Background Check: Required.
• Required Health Compliance:

o Measles and Rubella documentation

o Tuberculosis screening

o Seasonal Influenza vaccination OR use of surgical/procedural mask during periods designated by NYS Department of Health requirements

Required Training (Provided by OMH)
• 11 Hours - OER Mandatory Training
• 3 Hours - Mandated Reporter Training (if not already certified)
• 1 Hour - Computer/IT Training
• 2 Hours - EMS / Narcan Training
• 2 Hours - Infection Control Training
• 4 Days - TRUST Training
• 1 Day - BLS & First Aid Training
