Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:MPA seeks a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Heavy Construction Estimator for a large-scale rail tunnel construction project in New York. In this role, you will play a crucial role in scoping and estimating the costs of various aspects of the transit program, ensuring accurate and reliable cost projections for successful project execution. The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, allowing for a combination of remote, client, on-site and/or in-office work.Program backgroundThe Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country – a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project.What You'll Be Doing:Provide project scoping, design, and construction phase supervision services for a large transit program in New York City.Utilizing your knowledge of project controls, including cost and schedule management methods, specific to the transit industry.Collaborating with the program lead estimator and the cost estimating team to develop accurate cost estimates for the Package 1, heavy civil & tunneling components of the transit program.Strong ability to produce high-quality materials within tight timeframes and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.What Required Skills You'll Bring:Minimum 10 years of experience in construction estimating on complex infrastructure or tunnel projects.Senior Estimator with emphasis on Heavy Civil & Tunneling experienceBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Key Skills and Abilities:Proficiency in cost estimating methodologies and techniques related to construction.Knowledge of New York City construction trade unions rates and rules.Experience in preparing detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) civil, structural, or architectural construction projects.Strong ability to produce high-quality materials within tight timeframes and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.Security Clearance Requirement:NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
