What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food, beverages, and service.
• Is knowledgeable about the wine list, wines-by-the-glass, liqueur, liquor, ports and cocktails.
• Writes order on check or memorizes it.
• Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
• Observes guests to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
• Completes posted sidework and opening/closing duties.
• Totals bill in a timely manner and accepts payment.
• Responsible for knowledge of all menu items.
• Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.

Supervisory responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A current food handlers card and class 13/12 liquor permits must be on file at all times.
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation: $17.13 - $17.13
