Admissions Coordinator | $85,000–$100,000/Year | Edmonds Post Acute

Edmonds Post Acute is looking for an experienced Admissions Coordinator to own our admissions process from referral to room-ready. You'll have real authority to approve admissions, lead a small team, and build relationships with the discharge planners and case managers who trust you to take care of their patients. What You'll Do

• Manage the full admissions process for the facility, including the authority to approve resident admissions

• Build and maintain strong referral relationships with hospital discharge planners, case managers, and physicians

• Coordinate admissions from acute and emergency settings, including responding to after-hours inquiries as needed

• Partner with the Director of Nursing, Marketing Director, and Business Office Manager to set admission criteria and procedures

• Supervise and support Admissions Assistants

• Lead tours for prospective patients and families, answering questions with warmth and clarity

• Complete admission paperwork with residents and responsible parties, including room rates, billing, visitor policies, and care procedures

• Help patients and families navigate Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, VA benefits, and other financial and legal matters

• Support residents in deciding how they want to make healthcare decisions and who they'd like involved

• Coordinate with departments and outside agencies to make sure every room is ready before a new resident arrives

• Develop and improve admissions policies and procedures

• Oversee the orientation program for new residents

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least 2 years of admissions experience (skilled nursing, post-acute, or hospital setting preferred)

• Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance verification

• Strong computer and data entry skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with genuine empathy for patients and families

• Ability to be available for after-hours admission inquiries as needed
