About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 17:30 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cath Lab, community hospital/mixed IR and Cath lab setting preferred License: RN Licensure Certifications: ARRT or RCIS Must-Have: - Cath Lab experience, both diagnostic and PCIs - Monitor experience - Circulating, sedation (RN), scrubbing (Tech) Description: The position requires working from 07:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday, on variable days. The unit has 115 beds with a patient ratio of 1:1 in the Cath Lab. Staffing typically consists of three-person Cath and call teams. The department has three full-time Technologists and two full-time RNs. Daily staffing includes 5-6 staff members. Equipment used includes GE x-ray machines and Alaris pumps. Documentation systems include Merge Hemo and Meditech. Scheduling requires 8 days of weekday call and up to 6 days of weekend call per month. The position involves 4 ten-hour shifts. Radiologic Technologists with experience in other modalities may be required to float to Imaging departments. Registered Nurses may cover cardiology patients in non-invasive testing, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine. There is no floating to other areas of the hospital for any staff. The procedures performed include left and right heart catheterizations and PCI for specific lesion types. Advanced skills required include IR, Specials, and Vascular procedures. Certifications required are RN licensure, ARRT, or RCIS. The dress code includes red tops and bottoms, or black tops with red bottoms; ceil blue is acceptable. The leadership team is very involved and focuses on departmental success. The environment is described as a small hospital with a family-like feel.
