Registered Nurse Urgent Care

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Urgent Care Department provides skilled nursing care and clinical services to patients in an ambulatory care setting. This role involves collaboration with providers, clinic staff, and management to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient clinic operations, and compliance with standards. The nurse is responsible for patient assessments, medication management, documentation, and supporting providers and staff to deliver timely and effective care. Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills are essential, with a requirement for an active Alaska RN license and recent urgent care experience. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska (active at time of submittal).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of urgent care nursing experience within the last 2 years.
• Knowledge of nursing processes, safety, and infection control principles.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and specimen collection skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with clinic leadership and staff coordination.
• Familiarity with Point of Care testing quality control.
• Proficiency with medical and computer equipment used in ambulatory care settings.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor others.

Special Considerations:

• Must have active Alaska RN license at time of submittal.
• Proof of flu vaccination is required.
• Start date contingent upon completion and processing of fingerprint background check.
• Position functions within an ambulatory urgent care clinic environment requiring adherence to infection control policies.
• Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule involves shifts assigned within the Urgent Care Clinic.
• Shift details and hours are determined by clinic operational needs.
