About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED supports product groups, design and development teams, and cross‑functional functions such as sales, marketing, business operations, supply chain management, quality, and procurement. The division manages process technology and PDK development for both internal and external foundry processes, driving cost and margin improvements. The Senior Director of Device Development and Process Technology leads engineering teams, manages semiconductor process technologies, and architect ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) solutions for internal Renesas fabs and external foundries. The role requires a strong device/physics/process technology background and encompasses the following responsibilities: Responsibilities Lead the definition, optimization, and scaling of advanced active and passive semiconductor devices for all product groups. Define, develop, and execute plans of record, including schedules, deliverables, and risks. Lead process definition, documentation, management, and continuous improvement to align with key stakeholders’ needs. Optimize device structures using TCAD simulation tools to maximize performance, power, and area (PPA). Drive cross‑functional execution within internal foundry and with external foundry partners to achieve technology POR KPIs. Evaluate process window impacts on device characteristics, reliability parameters, and structural variability. Act as a technical interface between OED and key customers, keeping them up to date on development activities. Maintain strong ownership and understanding of project schedules and key milestones. Execute on key technology roadmaps and designs from U.S. R&D sites. Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing organizations to ensure required quality and on‑time delivery. Escalate issues in a timely manner and collaborate on corrective actions. Qualifications Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science with a focus on solid‑state electronics or semiconductors. 15–20 years of experience in semiconductor engineering, with preferred team‑management experience. Strong device/physics/process technology background and proven leadership in a technical environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, able to collaborate with internal and external partners. Change‑oriented mindset with the ability to identify, implement, and execute new processes that continuously improve and challenge the organization. Professional demeanor to represent OED and Renesas in customer meetings, formal reviews, and negotiations.
