Patent Prosecution Patent Agent (High Tech or Mechanical Engineering)

Patent Agent We are seeking a Patent Agent (High Tech or Mechanical Engineering) with patent prosecution experience and a technical background in mechanical, electrical, or computer science disciplines to join a nationally recognized corporate practice in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting freedom-to-operate analyses, and advising on IP strategy for complex technologies. Patent Agent Responsibilities Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications Conduct freedom-to-operate and clearance analyses Analyze scientific literature, patents, and technical disclosures Prepare responses to USPTO and international office actions Perform patentability and prior art searches Collaborate with inventors and clients to understand innovations Develop IP strategies and support portfolio development Conduct technical analysis comparing inventions to existing technologies Participate in examiner interviews and provide strategic recommendations Present technical concepts and legal arguments clearly to internal teams and clients Patent Agent Requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field USPTO registration (or eligibility) preferred Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications Strong technical writing and analytical skills Ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific concepts Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills Patent Agent Benefits Bonus eligible (top-of-market compensation) Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer contribution Generous PTO and paid holidays Professional development and mentorship opportunities Bar/USPTO fee reimbursement (if applicable) Wellness programs and employee assistance resources WFH flexibility (hybrid schedule ~60% in office) #J-18808-Ljbffr New Day Executive Search
