Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) - New Frontier Advisors

The Opportunity: Come build the technology organization and execution engine that can turn New Frontier’s investment expertise and product vision into a scalable platform. New Frontier is seeking a Chief Product & Technology Officer to lead the firm’s technology organization, platform architecture, engineering execution, and product delivery discipline. This is not only a CPO, AI evangelist, or product-vision role. It is that and a hands‑on executive leadership role for a technically credible, commercially aware product-and-technology operator who can bring structure, urgency, and disciplined execution to an established investment firm entering a major technology platform expansion. The CPTO will report to the CEO and serve as a member of the executive leadership team. The role will work closely with the CEO/CIO, Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, investment research, operations, compliance, client‑facing teams, and external partners. New Frontier is an established firm with existing clients, revenue, investment research, proprietary technology, and institutional knowledge. At the same time, the company is entering a major product and platform expansion phase that requires stronger technology leadership, product execution discipline, scalable development practices, and clearer technical governance. The right leader will be comfortable operating at the intersection of an established investment business and an emerging technology platform. They will bring structure without unnecessary bureaucracy, technical discipline without slowing commercial progress, and urgency without compromising quality, security, auditability, or investment integrity. Key Responsibilities: Product Execution & Delivery: Partner with the CEO/CIO, Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, investment research, operations, compliance, and client‑facing teams to translate New Frontier’s strategic product direction into a clear product roadmap, technical architecture, and execution plan. Own the product delivery process, ensuring business priorities, advisor workflows, investment methodology, operational requirements, and client needs are converted into clear specifications, development priorities, and release milestones. Establish disciplined product execution processes, including requirements definition, prioritization, backlog management, beta feedback intake, release planning, QA, and post‑release validation. Lead New Frontier’s technology architecture, engineering roadmap, development process, and technical governance across the firm’s technology stack. Oversee the core systems that support New Frontier’s investment process, portfolio construction capabilities, client solutions, operational workflows, and advisor‑facing platform experience. Evaluate opportunities to modernize existing systems while preserving accuracy, continuity, auditability, data integrity, and investment methodology. Ensure platform scalability, reliability, security, performance, operational resilience, and maintainability. Define and enforce technical standards that support API development, modular deployment, data connectivity, permissions, reporting, enterprise use cases, and future integration needs. Lead the development of a scalable technology and integration strategy for custodians, advisor platforms, portfolio reporting systems, CRM tools, data providers, trading systems, and other wealth technology partners. Help define where AI can responsibly support workflow automation, advisor support, reporting, documentation, analytics, engineering productivity, and internal efficiency without compromising investment integrity, regulatory obligations, data protection, or proprietary methodology. Lead New Frontier’s technology architecture, engineering roadmap, development process, and technical governance across the firm’s technology stack. Manage, mentor, and develop the current technology team, including senior, mid‑level, and junior engineering talent. Assess team capabilities, clarify roles, identify gaps, and build a hiring plan to support future product and platform growth. Help the team move from individually managed development practices toward a scalable technology operating model with clear responsibilities, documentation standards, and accountability. Build a team culture that values quality, intellectual rigor, responsiveness, transparency, accountability, and disciplined execution. Serve as a bridge between technical and non‑technical stakeholders across the executive team and broader organization. Provide clear reporting to the CEO and executive team on product progress, technology risks, resource needs, timelines, dependencies, and strategic tradeoffs. Represent the product and technology function in discussions with strategic partners, clients, vendors, and other external stakeholders as appropriate. Partner with investment research to ensure technology implementation accurately reflects New Frontier’s portfolio construction methodology, optimization capabilities, rebalancing discipline, and investment standards. Partner with operations and compliance to ensure platform workflows support appropriate controls, auditability, documentation, and regulatory obligations. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a senior product‑and‑technology executive with experience leading technology, engineering execution, and product delivery in a financial technology, wealth management, investment management, SaaS, or enterprise software environment. This person should bring strong technical judgment, practical product instincts, commercial awareness, and the leadership maturity to help guide an established investment firm through a major product and platform expansion. The right candidate will not expect to define the firm’s investment philosophy or product vision independently. Rather, they will be energized by the opportunity to partner with the CEO/CIO and executive leadership team to turn a strong strategic vision into a scalable, secure, commercially viable technology platform. They should be equally comfortable discussing architecture with engineers, product priorities with business leaders, investment methodology with research professionals, and strategic implications with the CEO and executive team. Qualifications: Required: 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including experience managing software engineering teams. Experience as a CTO, Chief Product & Technology Officer, Head of Engineering, VP of Product & Technology, Chief Product Officer with strong technical depth, or similar senior leadership role. Demonstrated experience building, launching, scaling, or modernizing commercial software platforms. Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud infrastructure, APIs, data systems, cybersecurity, QA, DevOps, and software development best practices. Experience managing product roadmaps, prioritization processes, engineering sprints, release cycles, technical documentation, and cross‑functional delivery. Experience leading technology in a growth‑stage or transformation‑stage product environment, including the ability to formalize development processes, scale teams, and create structure in an evolving organization. Ability to work effectively with quantitative investment professionals, research teams, business leaders, operations, compliance, and client‑facing stakeholders. Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts, risks, trade‑offs, and resource needs clearly to non‑technical stakeholders. Track record of bringing discipline, accountability, and delivery focus to technology organizations. Preferred: Familiarity with advisor workflows, portfolio construction, portfolio optimization, custodial integrations, trading systems, model portfolio platforms, portfolio analytics, or enterprise wealth technology platforms. Experience supporting platforms that require data quality, auditability, compliance sensitivity, access controls, and high reliability. Experience making build‑versus‑buy decisions and managing external development partners, vendors, or integration partners. Practical understanding of AI‑enabled product development, workflow automation, data governance, responsible AI use, and AI‑assisted productivity in regulated or enterprise software environments. Experience building or supporting enterprise SaaS platforms, API‑driven platforms, or modular technology architectures. Graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Finance, or a related field.
