Infection Control Nurse/Nurse Educator

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is actively hiring an Infection Control Nurse/Nurse Educator. This position is responsible for coordinating the hospital's Infection Prevention and Control Program while providing leadership in staff education, competency development, and clinical training initiatives. The Nurse Educator/Infection Control Nurse will:

Coordinates and maintains the Infection Prevention and Control Program in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Investigate infection control concerns and recommends corrective actions as appropriate.

Provides infection prevention education and guidance to staff, patients, and visitors.

Ensures compliance with CDC, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and state regulatory requirements.

Plans, develops, coordinates, and evaluates nursing education and staff development programs.

Facilitates new employee orientation, annual competencies, and mandatory education requirements.

Serves as a clinical resource and consultant to nursing and interdisciplinary staff.

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital will:

Serve children and adolescents, adults and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare focused on individual needs and comfort.

Create more than 200 new, full-time jobs including nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians and administrative staff, when the facility is fully operational.

Be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children's Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics.

Feature 120 licensed beds ready to meet the mental health needs of the surrounding community.

Span more than 88,000 square feet, and will include an activity yard and gym.

Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience required. Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, infection prevention, staff development, or quality management preferred. Knowledge of infection control principles, adult learning methodologies, and regulatory standards preferred.
