We're an AI-native third-party administrator (TPA) that makes it easy for financial advisors to offer 401(k)s and other retirement products by pairing streamlined workflows with dedicated human service. About the role

Aboon is scaling and hiring fast. As our Talent & People Director, you'll be the first dedicated hire on our People team, with an immediate mandate for recruiting: owning full-cycle hiring across the company and building the muscle that lets us grow well.

This role is recruiting-first by design. Your priority will be sourcing, screening, coordinating, and closing great people across every function. As the hiring pace normalizes, the role broadens into the work that makes Aboon a place people want to stay: onboarding, performance and review cycles, culture and events, learning and development, and the day-to-day operations of a growing team.

You'll report to our General Counsel and Head of People, and you'll partner closely with hiring managers and team leads across the company. You’ll have the chance to help build out the people function, with room to grow into a broader people leadership role as the company scales.

What you'll do

Recruiting

• Own full-cycle recruiting across the company, from intake through offer, starting with over a dozen open roles spanning every function, and more ahead.

• Partner with hiring managers to scope roles, define what "great" looks like, and run structured, fair interview processes.

• Source proactively and build pipelines for the roles we hire repeatedly.

• Run a clean, fast process in our ATS, Ashby: keep candidates moving, communicate promptly, and never let someone go dark.

• Own candidate experience end to end so that every applicant comes away with a good impression of Aboon, offer or not.

• Coordinate interviews, debriefs, and scheduling, and keep hiring managers on pace.

• Manage relationships with any external search partners, and know when we need them versus when we don't.

• Keep our job descriptions, interview kits, and offer process sharp, and report on pipeline health so we can course-correct early.

People Operations (growing over time)

• Build a smooth onboarding experience so new hires ramp quickly and feel part of the team from day one.

• Support our performance and review cycles, from setting up logistics and coordination to helping managers run them well.

• Help shape culture, including team rituals, recognition, and our annual company retreats.

• Support learning, training, and professional development programs as they grow.

• Keep our people systems and records accurate and organized, and help make sense of people data.

• Partner with the General Counsel on higher-level people strategy including compensation, org design, and policy.

• Spot friction in how we work and propose better processes, including automation of repeatable work.

What you bring

Required

• 7-10 years in recruiting, with substantial full-cycle, in-house experience owning roles from intake to close.

• A track record hiring across functions at pace, ideally at a startup or high-growth company.

• Fluency with an ATS and modern recruiting tools.

• Strong written and verbal communication.

• Sound judgment and discretion in dealing with people.

• Comfort with ambiguity and building structure where little exists.

• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot in day-to-day work.

Nice to have

• Genuine interest in growing into a broader People generalist or leadership path over time.

• Exposure to people operations beyond recruiting, including onboarding, performance, culture, or L&D.

• Experience with Ashby specifically.

• A background in financial services, wealth, or fintech.

• Experience at a small, growing firm or startup: you understand the "wear many hats" mentality.

What we offer

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $180,000-$200,000 depending on experience, skills, and location. Total compensation also includes an annual bonus and equity.

Location

Remote, though we encourage in-person attendance at 1-2 company retreats per year. This role is open to candidates based in the US. Work authorization required; no visa sponsorship.
