Accounting Manager

The HT Group is seeking an Accounting Manager for a construction client in the Dallas area. You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end close process, maintaining the general ledger, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. Responsibilities: Manage the full-cycle month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements Maintain the general ledger and prepare balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, GAAP compliance, and timely resolution of discrepancies Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice coding, payments, and vendor/customer account balances Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports while developing and maintaining Excel-based reporting, forecasting, and analysis tools Partner with Project Managers and Operations to monitor job costs, work in progress (WIP), project schedules, profitability, and equipment costs Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, fixed asset schedules, and depreciation tracking Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, GAAP, and applicable federal and state regulations Coordinate with external accountants and auditors for year-end audits, tax preparation, and financial statement reviews Support certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting, as required by contract Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controls Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned by the VP of Finance Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting Experience in construction, paving, or another project-based environment Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement preparation Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets, reports, and financial analysis Experience preparing and presenting weekly and monthly financial and operational reports Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders Trimble, Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE, or similar ERP systems – experience preferred Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting - preferred #SETX105 / #AUSTIN100 #J-18808-Ljbffr
