Senior Jasper Reports Developer

Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior Jasper Reports Developer on behalf of our client in a remote environment to design, develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise reporting solutions using JasperReports/Jaspersoft. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in JasperReports Studio, JRXML, SQL, Java, and enterprise reporting integrations. Experience supporting banking, financial services, or capital markets environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise reports using JasperReports Studio and Jaspersoft .
Create pixel-perfect operational, analytical, and regulatory reports using JRXML .
Develop reusable templates, subreports, parameters, charts, crosstabs, and reporting components.
Build dynamic, parameter-driven, scheduled, and on-demand reports.
Optimize report performance and troubleshoot report-generation issues.
Gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data-extraction logic.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and reporting-quality analysis.
Work with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
Integrate JasperReports with Java-based enterprise applications and REST services.
Collaborate with application developers to embed and deploy reporting solutions.
Support production deployments, troubleshooting, release planning, and ongoing application support.
Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
Provide technical recommendations and effort estimates.
Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of software development experience .
Strong hands-on experience with JasperReports Studio and Jaspersoft .
Advanced expertise in JRXML report development and design .
Experience with report optimization and performance tuning.
Strong SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.
Experience with Java and JDBC and integrating reporting solutions into enterprise applications.
Knowledge of REST APIs and report deployment mechanisms.
Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices .
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Jaspersoft Server .
Experience with Java/Spring Boot .
Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins , or similar CI/CD tools.
Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
Knowledge of XML and JSON .
Experience in banking, financial services, or capital markets .
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
