Support the success of students as a dedicated Paraprofessional in a life skills classroom environment. This contract position offers the rewarding opportunity to provide one-on-one support in a high school near Jim Thorpe, PA. You’ll play an integral part in assisting a student with autism, ensuring their safety, engagement, and continued presence in the classroom setting throughout the academic year.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience in school settings required
• Background working with students exhibiting significant behavioral needs
• Strong sense of responsibility and a calm, consistent approach
• Skilled at implementing behavioral strategies and maintaining a structured routine
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in high-stress situations
• Committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as a dedicated 1:1 aide to a high school student within the Life Skills program
• Safeguard and supervise the student at all times during the school day
• Maintain routines and collaborate closely with teachers to prevent elopement or disruption
• Utilize positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and prompts as needed
• Support academic, social, and behavioral goals set by the IEP team
• Communicate regularly with staff regarding student progress and needs

Position Details:

• Contract duration: August 21, 2026 – June 4, 2027
• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week (approximately 7:15am-3:00pm, subject to adjustment)
• Work exclusively within a supportive school environment focused on student achievement and well-being
