Accounting Manager Job Description PrideStaff is working with a local business that is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will be a hands‑on manager, overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial activities. The ideal Accounting Manager has multiple years of accounting experience performing budgets, forecasts, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. The ideal Accounting Manager is a hands‑on leader who is confident in dealing with customers and vendors while thriving in a fast‑paced environment. The Accounting Manager is a full‑time, direct hire position in Westport, CT. Responsibilities Oversee All Accounting Functions, Including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, & Commissions Maintain & Reconcile Inventory Records & Related Payables Prepare & Review Monthly Financial Statements, Cash Flow Reports, Budgets, & Forecasts Manage The Chart of Accounts, Post Journal Entries, & Perform Account & Bank Reconciliations Coordinate With External Accounts For Audits, Income Statements, Tax Filings, & Year‑End Procedures Prepare & File Sales & Personal Property Tax Returns Manage Cash Activity Including Deposits, Wire Transfers, ACH Transactions, Credit Card Purchases, & Inter‑Company Transfers Develop & Enhance Accounting Procedures & Internal Controls Support Management With Financial Analysis, Reporting, & Special Projects Supervise & Mentor Accounting Staff Job Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field Required 5+ Years of Accounting Experience Required CPA or Equivalent Certification Preferred Extensive Experience Reconciling Balance Sheet & Income Statement Accounts, Including Accruals, Prepaid Expenses, & Depreciation Strong Understanding of Business Operations as Reflected Through The General Ledger Knowledge of Inventory Accounting & Reconciliation, With The Ability to Identify & Make Necessary Adjustments Previous Experience Preparing & Filing Sales Tax, Use Tax, & Year‑End 1099 Forms Thorough Understanding of Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Functions Skilled in Performing Bank Reconciliations & Maintaining Accurate Cash Records Ability to Manage Multiple Priorities & Meet Deadlines Proficient With MS Office & Accounting Software Excellent Attention to Detail & Demonstrates a High Level of Accuracy PrideStaff Hiring Requirements Must be 18+ Years Old Must be Willing to Submit to a Pre‑Employment Background Check & Drug Screen Must be Able to Provide Proof of Eligibility to Work in The U.S. Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Accounting/Auditing Enhance your career with a global company with excellent benefits & career advancement.
