Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; equivalent experience may be considered for exceptional candidates. Two or more years of accounting experience preferred. Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality. Manufacturing accounting experience preferred. Experience working within a modern ERP system preferred. Microsoft Office experience and above average proficiency required. Physical Demands Frequently sit for extended periods while performing computer‑based work. Frequently use hands and fingers to operate computers, calculators, telephones, and office equipment. Frequently communicate verbally and in writing with employees, vendors, auditors, and financial institutions. Occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift office materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Must possess visual acuity sufficient to review financial reports, spreadsheets, and electronic records. Primarily performed in a professional office environment. Occasional requirements requiring exposure to production environment. Regular use of computers and standard office equipment. Occasional interruptions requiring changes in priorities. Limited travel is generally not required. Complete reconciliations and journal entries timely with minimal errors. Support efficient month‑end and year‑end close processes. Maintain effective internal controls and documentation. Build positive working relationships across departments. Demonstrate ownership of assigned accounting processes. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation. Summary APPLICANT NOTICE This position as a Staff Accountant begins as an "Introductory Trainee" for 60 consecutive days during which time the manager will evaluate whether the employee is suited for the position. If the employee is determined to be suitable for the job, status will then advance to "Regular Employee" on the first of the month following the 60‑day introductory period. Company benefits will then commence. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check. SUMMARY The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Company's accounting operations through accurate financial record‑keeping, account reconciliations, cash management, month‑end close activities, and financial reporting support. This position ensures accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely while maintaining strong internal controls and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Staff Accountant works closely with departments throughout the organization to ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and useful for management decision‑making. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform daily bank reconciliations and reconcile cash activity to the general ledger. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items. Prepare general ledger journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities. Prepare recurring accounting schedules, accruals, prepaid expense reconciliations, and fixed asset support. Assist with inventory accounting, manufacturing accounting, and cost accounting activities as assigned. Assist with sales and use tax reporting and other regulatory filings. Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation. Maintain accurate accounting records and electronic documentation. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automation, and internal controls. Cross‑train within the Accounting Department to provide backup support for critical accounting functions. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
