LTL Asset-based carrier seeking an experienced & reliable Dispatcher to act as a communication point for drivers. You will route pick ups and deliveries for all company drivers, as well as assist customers with load tracking and giving freight rates. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, with the ability to adjust to time sensitive pick-ups and deliveries. In addition, able to multi-task making quick and concise decisions on the fly. Knowledge of ELD's and driver's hours of service (HOS) are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee (and schedule appointments if necessary) pick ups and deliveries.
• Address problems and requests that arise concerning pick ups and deliveries.
• Issue customers and brokers with freight rates on shipments.
• Assist customers and brokers with tracking on shipments.
• Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries.
• Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance.
• Use phone and computer to send drivers correct addresses and pick up/ delivery numbers.
• Monitor the route and status of drivers to coordinate and prioritize their pick ups and deliveries.
• Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information.
• Help/Monitor driver's daily logs ensuring all are compliant with regulations.

Skills

• Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
• Strong understanding of Driver's Electronic Logging Device (ELD)
• Familiarity of Transportation Management Solutions (TMS) Software
• Tech-savvy with knowledge of relevant methods
• Fast typing with experience in data entry
• Knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situations
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgement and critical thinking
