Quality Manager

Quality Manager – Bedford, MA The Quality Manager will support quality engineering requirements for new product development, manage ISO certification and ongoing maintenance of the Quality Management System, drive a culture of quality using continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, and function as the primary liaison for various customers to resolve quality issues and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Implement and maintain a quality management system (QMS) via ISO 9001 certification. Provide quality coaching to staff, peers, associates, and the management team to enhance execution of procedures and improve customer satisfaction. Identify and resolve production line work stoppages in a timely manner to support customer on‑time deliveries. Manage teams in quality management and operational excellence across a diversified manufacturing environment. Represent Quality Engineering on new product development teams and facilitate the transition of new designs into production. Support business unit financial objectives by managing the cost of non-conformances (scrap and warranty). Communicate quality issues with customers, building positive and productive relationships based on data and continuous improvement. Coordinate customer evaluations for reported product failures or complaints and assist in corrective action. Coordinate internal quality audits and report QMS compliance status to management. Participate on cross-functional teams to implement operational excellence initiatives (Six Sigma, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, etc.). Provide status of internal and external corrective actions, ensuring responses prevent recurrence and report progress to management. Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. Hands‑on orientation to solve critical issues promptly while balancing long‑term improvement initiatives. Education and Experience B.S. degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment; experience in electronic instrumentation or lab equipment is a plus. ISO internal auditing experience is a plus. Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience are a plus.
