Job Requirements

• Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• ACLS strongly preferred; able to obtain within one year
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Strong oncology nursing and phlebotomy skills
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Experience with Epic documentation preferred
• Must pass EKG and Pharmacology exams during compliance
• Ability to work within a local radius policy and complete required holiday/weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care for adult patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Administer chemotherapy and manage continuous infusion medications safely
• Monitor complex fluid and medication needs for medically fragile patients
• Perform cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpret strips independently
• Complete IV starts, peripheral lab draws, and arterial blood draws
• Manage various IV drips, including cardiac, insulin, and heparin infusions
• Support wound care needs, including wound vac dressing changes and wound drains
• Care for patients with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Educate patients and families on chemotherapy, radiation, procedures, disease processes, and trach care
• Collaborate with Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, Social Work, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Provide care in a unit that may also receive overflow medical and surgical patients
