Purchasing Agent

Purchasing Agent Hughes Brothers Construction is now hiring! We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in large site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway construction throughout Central Florida. The Purchasing Agent supports the Purchasing Manager in executing the day-to-day procurement activities for HBC's newly established purchasing department. This is a hands‑on, non-supervisory role responsible for material procurement, vendor coordination and communication, and purchasing documentation for active projects. Responsibilities Procure materials, equipment, rentals, and services for civil construction projects under the direction of the Purchasing Manager. Adhere to defined purchasing policies and procedures while actively contributing to the development and refinement of standardized workflows. Issue and track purchase orders. Coordinate and communicate effectively with Estimating, Project Managers, Superintendents, Accounting and vendors to ensure proper alignment of purchasing activities. Coordinate material deliveries, lead times, and quantities. Support vendor negotiations to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules. Assist with job cost tracking and project close-out documentation. Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities. Assist with purchasing audits and internal reviews as needed.
