Furnace OperatorSibanye-Stillwater is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Furnace Operator to support metal melting operations within the Thermal Destruction Department. This hands-on role focuses on operating and monitoring furnaces used to melt non-ferrous metals while ensuring all production, quality, and safety standards are consistently met in a high-temperature industrial environment.Ready to Make an Impact If you take pride in precision, teamwork, and maintaining safe operations, this role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to reliable production and responsible material processing.What You Will DoOperate induction, gas, or electric furnaces used to melt non-ferrous metalsPerform minor equipment maintenance and support routine operational upkeepRecord before and after weights of material lots processed through the equipmentReview startup checklists to ensure equipment and systems are operating properlyRecord operational temperatures hourly and maintain accurate logsMonitor the condition of furnaces, boilers, baghouse, and scrubber systemsSafely pour molten metal into molds or ingots and prepare samples for laboratory analysisAccurately record production data and enter information into tracking systemsMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with proceduresObserve equipment during operation to identify irregularities or malfunctionsFollow production schedules and support operational and quality targetsAssist with general housekeeping and operational support activities as neededWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrevious experience in furnace, foundry, metal processing, incinerator, boiler, drying oven, or similar industrial machine operations preferredStrong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentSolid math and basic data entry skills requiredTeam oriented with strong communication skillsProven commitment to safety and adherence to operating proceduresReliable transportation required due to limited public transportation accessPhysical RequirementsAbility to exert physical effort handling materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds throughout the workdayAbility to work in industrial conditions including exposure to dirt, odors, noise, heat, and weather extremesAbility to stand, walk, bend, and work around industrial equipment for extended periodsSchedule & Benefits2nd Shift: 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, onsite at Fairless HillsTraining Schedule: Employees will train on 1st shift for approximately 90 daysCompetitive pay and comprehensive benefits401(k) with company matchPaid holidays, vacation, sick time, personal holiday, and community daysStable, mission-driven organizationCompliance RequirementsMust meet ITAR and NAID eligibility requirementsAbility to pass background screening and pre-employment drug testingApply today and help us support safe operations, production quality, and a more sustainable future.
