Experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney

Cozen O’Connor’s Global Insurance Department seeks an attorney with 5–8 years of significant insurance coverage and litigation experience to join our Chicago office. Responsibilities Analyze and litigate complex insurance coverage disputes and bad faith, particularly Commercial General Liability (CGL). Handle all phases of coverage litigation. Manage cases independently while consulting with the insurance lawyers team in Chicago and nationwide. Qualifications 5–8 years of significant insurance coverage and litigation experience. Strong experience with Commercial General Liability (CGL) coverage, including analysis and litigation of complex disputes and bad faith. Broad knowledge of commercial auto, motor carrier liability, commercial excess/umbrella, environmental/pollution liability, real estate/homeowners’ liability, package business liability, errors and omissions, and professional coverage forms. Solid understanding of contractual indemnity provisions and competing other insurance clauses. Excellent analytical, writing, and advocacy skills and strong academic credentials. Substantial coverage litigation experience, including all phases of litigation. Defense litigation experience is helpful. Illinois bar admission required; other bar admissions a plus. Self‑starter, efficient, and capable of handling an independent caseload in consultation with the team. Benefits The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $220,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
