Your Role as a Medical Social Worker As a Medical Social Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in providing social casework to clients and their families, conducting psychosocial assessments, and creating action plans to secure community resource referrals. You’ll make an impact in healthcare settings, including mental health facilities, home health, hospitals, and more. What You’ll Do Casework Support: Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop action plans, and secure appropriate referrals to community resources. Patient & Family Advocacy: Provide rehabilitative and supportive casework to help patients achieve optimal social and health outcomes. Collaboration: Coordinate with healthcare staff and community agencies to secure support services. Compassionate Care: Deliver culturally sensitive, non-judgmental support that respects patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. What We’re Looking For Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution. Licensure: Unrestricted license in Nevada to practice as a Medical Social Worker. Experience: Skilled in healthcare settings, including mental health and home health environments. Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination abilities. Screening: Health and background screenings as required by state and client facilities. Work Environment: This role offers diverse settings, from mental health facilities to home health agencies, with potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
