Certified Surg Tech - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing support to the surgical team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred; CST credential preferred but not required.
• BLS Certification required.
• Minimum 2 years‘ experience as a certified OR Tech / Surgical Technologist in a surgical environment.
• Orthopedic total joint and orthopedic trauma experience required.
• Ability to independently scrub cranial procedures and competent in neuro/trauma cases; must score equivalent to senior-level competency in neuro and neuro-trauma call responsibilities.
• Experience with robotics and navigation systems preferred, including DaVinci, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis.
• Experience charting in EPIC preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work call shifts, weeknight call, and 24-hour weekend call as required.
• Must comply with facility fingernail policy: artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination.
• Orientation requirement: approximately 12 hours departmental orientation and one week of unit-specific orientation.

Assignment Details

• Facility Type: Hospital (Operating Room, multiple suites)
• Unit: Operating Room. Approx. 11 rooms and an average of 18 cases per day.
• Shift Name: Days. 5x8s days; schedules typically 8- or 10-hour shifts beginning at 07:00 M-F. Call weeks include one weeknight per week (end of shift until 07:00 next morning) and three weekend days per month, including 24-hour shifts.
• Case Mix: Orthopedics (total and trauma), urology, ENT, neuro (backs, crani), with some pediatric cases for RNs only.
• Required Certifications: BLS. CST credential preferred but not required.
• EMR / Charting System: EPIC.
• Orientation Hours: 12 departmental orientation hours plus one week of unit-specific orientation.
• Floating: No floating required.
• Call Response Time: 15 minutes.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs provided.
