Position Overview

As a Mechanical Designer , you will support the mechanical engineering team by creating and maintaining detailed designs for automated

material handling and robotics systems. This role focuses on translating engineering concepts into production-ready drawings , managing revisions,

and ensuring accurate design documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks
• Develop fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings
• Update existing designs based on redlines, engineering feedback, and project changes
• Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure alignment with ERP systems
• Manage design files, revisions, and documentation within PDM or PLM systems
• Collaborate with engineers to convert concepts into manufacturable designs
• Incorporate feedback from manufacturing, quality, and field teams
• Ensure drawings meet internal standards and are production-ready
• Support configure-to-order projects by adapting designs to customer needs

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or drafting
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
• Experience creating detailed fabrication and assembly drawings
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, sheet metal, and assemblies

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience in automation, material handling, or equipment design
• Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems and revision control
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles

Work Environment

• On-site, office-based role in Maryland Heights, MO
• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Collaborative team environment with team members

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryland Heights, MO.

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $40.87/hr.
