Job Title Unit Clerk Department CPH West 2 Location SLH - CPH Main - 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY 13676 Hours Per Week 37.5 Schedule Nights (10:30 PM - 6:30 AM) Every other Weekend Summary Under the supervision of the Director/Manager or delegate, assists in planning, organizing, implementing evaluating the activities occurring on the nursing unit by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. Responsibilities Performs various clerical duties related to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units. Establishes & maintains the patient record on the unit. Answers the telephone in a professional manner and directs calls to appropriate individuals and/or takes messages. Stock units with office supplies; prepares requisitions to maintain established inventories. Faxes and photocopies information as needed. Obtains supplies as requested by the nursing staff. Records information, such as physicians' orders and instructions, dietary requirements, and medication information, on patient charts and medical records, as needed. Adheres to HIPAA guidelines by accessing PHI in accordance with departmental assignment Welcomes visitors, answers inquiries, gives directions and refers inquiries to nursing and physician staff as needed. Provides support and necessary information to nurses, providers, offices, etc. Arranges discharges/ transfers by notifying patient transport services. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations and adhering to Infection Prevention Policies May transport patients in wheelchair to locations within facility Union 1199 SEIU (CPH) Service, Maintenance & Clerical Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible Physical Requirements S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Pay Range $18.82 - $27.32 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
