Critical Care RN II/III — Night/ICU Shift

Job Overview The County of Riverside’s Riverside University Health System is hiring Registered Nurses for the Adult Critical Care Unit at its Medical Center in Moreno Valley. The role is managed under the Registered Nurse – MC/CHC series and involves full‑range nursing duties within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act. Job Levels & Responsibilities Registered Nurse II – MC/CHC Perform professional nursing duties with minimal supervision. Assess, plan, and organize patient care, and coordinate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Document patient status and notify changes in condition. Provide orientation and training to new staff and trainees. Participate in quality assurance reviews and committee activities. Registered Nurse III – MC/CHC Apply advanced knowledge and skills to care for patients with complex problems. Lead or relieve charge nurse duties. Assist in policy, procedure review, and in‑service education. Oversee staff development and preceptorship. Perform all RN II responsibilities. General Nursing Responsibilities Assess, plan, organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients. Assist physicians in administering treatments and performing medical examinations. Administer prescribed medications and chart treatments. Advise patients and families regarding medical issues and care plans. Record and report significant changes in patient condition. Coordinate patient care during hospitalization and discharge planning. Shift Pattern 3‑day/12‑hour schedule: Night Shift 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. Shift Differentials Evening shift differential (6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.): $2.50 per hour. Night shift differential (11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.): $5.00 per hour. ICU Critical Care differential: $4.00 per hour. Salary Range (Hourly) Registered Nurse II – MC/CHC: $43.99 – $68.09 Registered Nurse III – MC/CHC: $51.13 – $77.16 Required Licenses & Certifications Current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification from the American Heart Association, Blue Cloud – National Stroke Association, or Apex. Qualifications Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid RN license in California (a bachelor’s degree may be required for some positions). Experience: RN II: Equivalent to one year of full‑time experience in an acute care setting. RN III: Equivalent to three years of full‑time experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute one year and a master’s degree may substitute two years. Knowledge: Current nursing principles, medical terminology, applicable laws, and reimbursement regulations.
