We continue to grow and are looking for experienced leaders who want to take ownership of their work, develop teams, and play a key role in shaping the future of the company.Position OverviewYou are responsible for managing, assisting, and overseeing design, reporting, and planning for residential, commercial, and public development projects. You serve as the primary client interface, working directly with senior leadership while directing and supporting technical staff. You are expected to demonstrate strong leadership, mentorship, and business development capabilities, while contributing to company growth and profitability.You will also support team development by contributing to strategic hiring efforts, referring qualified candidates, and supporting onboarding of new employees through your professional network.Reports to: President or Senior Vice President, with day-to-day oversight from Principal EngineersKey ResponsibilitiesLeadership, Management, and OperationsLead and oversee design and technical staff across multiple projectsProvide mentorship, guidance, and performance leadership to junior engineers and project staffCoordinate handoffs between internal departments to ensure efficient project executionIdentify and allocate project resources to meet schedules and deliverablesDefine roles and responsibilities to maximize staff utilization and efficiencyEnsure quality control, documentation, and overall project performanceManage project schedules, workload forecasting, and team capacity planningSupport team development by assisting talent acquisition efforts and supporting onboarding of new employeesBusiness Development, Revenue, and GrowthDevelop new business development opportunities and expand existing client relationshipsActively market to new and existing clientsServe as the primary client contact and maintain strong relationshipsPrepare Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), proposals, and support interviewsContribute to revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability goalsTechnical ResponsibilitiesOversee and support design in the following areas:Site gradingRoad designStorm water conveyance, quantity, and quality modelingSewer conveyance system designWater conveyance system designTESC system designLand entitlement and site layout experience preferredSpecification preparationSupport land entitlement and site layout planning (preferred)Review and contribute to specifications and technical documentationSkills and SpecificationsProven ability to lead teams and collaborate across all levels of the organizationStrong client communication and relationship management skillsSolution-oriented mindset with effective problem-solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh proficiency in Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft OfficeProfessional, dependable, and results-driven approachEducation, Experience, QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in civil engineering (Master's degree preferred)10+ years of civil engineering and project management experiencePrivate development project experience required; public project experience preferredWashington State Professional Engineer (PE) license required; multi-state licensure preferredPMP certification is a plusValid Washington State driver's licenseCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary + performance-based bonus opportunities401(k) with employer matchMedical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your familyGenerous paid time off + paid holidaysProfessional development and career advancement supportWhy LDCYou are trusted to lead projects, teams, and client relationships with autonomyYou play a direct role in business development and company growthYou have the opportunity to build and develop high-performing teamsYou are part of a firm that values accountability, quality, and long-term client relationships
