Job Description:
Effectively administers and controls all financial transactions and internal controls of the District through leadership and ethical practice, directly ensures timely and accurate cash management practices, and manages the personnel and processes associated with Accounting, Grants, and facility rentals. fluorescent lighting and a moderate noise level. Requirements include:
• Occasional lifting up to ten (10) pounds
• Frequent sitting, with occasional bending, reaching, and standing
• Frequent use of hands, keyboarding, and writing
• Vision, auditory, and mental acuity within normal ranges Responsibilities: --- Earn and sustain the public's trust through honest, truthful and responsible communication, conduct, transactions, partnerships and relationships. --- Prepare and submit, in an accurate, complete and timely manner, all financial reports, including the CAFR, the ADE, the Audit, the Transportation report, and Financial Transparency reports for the Board, Colorado Department of Education and the community. --- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. --- Build and implement systems necessary to hire, motivate, develop, position, and retain the best people to meet organizational and departmental goals. --- Assess and implement investment policy and procedures, cash flow management and internal controls to prevent and manage monetary and operational risk, loss and liability. --- Intentionally collaborate with colleagues, district leadership, and other stakeholders to improve District efficiency. --- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of and compliance with State and Federal accounting laws and regulations. --- Build and maintain financial controls, and oversee all accounting functions to achieve financial sustainability. Work Experience:
Five (5) years of Accounting Experience. K-12 School District or Governmental Agency Experience preferred | RequiredProficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills | Required
Certifications:
Certified Public Accountant - National Association of State Boards of Accountancy/CO DORA
Education:
