This role requires strong technical judgment, hands-on troubleshooting, and ownership of test outcomes. In addition to executing tests, the technician is responsible for diagnosing issues, determining corrective actions, and ensuring instruments meet performance requirements prior to release.Expected to identify abnormal system behavior, investigate root causes, and take appropriate action, including stopping production flow when results do not align with expected performance, even if technically within specification limits.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Testing and System ValidationReads and interprets test schedules, work orders, specifications, schematics, and diagrams to determine appropriate testing methods and equipmentSets up, configures, and operates a wide range of diagnostic and test equipment including multimeters, flow meters, oscilloscopes, and automated test systemsExecutes electrical, functional, and performance testing on instruments, subassemblies, and fully integrated systemsValidates system-level performance, ensuring all functional and performance requirements are met prior to releaseAdvanced Troubleshooting and ResolutionServes as the primary escalation point for complex, non-standard, or intermittent failuresDiagnoses root causes of issues across electrical, pneumatic, and integrated system interactionsLeads resolution of high-complexity problems where standard procedures are insufficient or undefinedDetermines and implements corrective actions, including calibration, adjustment, repair, or reworkPerforms moderate to advanced repairs to bring systems into full compliance with specificationsSystem Ownership and Decision-MakingOwns test outcomes for assigned products or production areas, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality of resultsExercises independent judgment to assess system performance and determine acceptability of results, even when within specification limitsMakes stop/go decisions that directly impact production flow based on technical assessmentEnsures final product performance meets all operational and quality requirements prior to shipmentProcess Ownership and Continuous ImprovementOwns defined test processes, procedures, or product lines, ensuring standardization and effective execution across the teamIdentifies recurring or systemic issues and leads implementation of improvements to test methods, fixtures, and equipmentDrives improvements in test efficiency, yield, and repeatability through data analysis and practical applicationProvides structured feedback to Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to improve product design, manufacturability, and testabilityCross-Functional Technical LeadershipInterfaces with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve product and process issuesProvides technical input on product performance, failure modes, and test strategiesSupports engineering investigations, validation efforts, and implementation of design or process changesTeam Leadership and DevelopmentActs as a technical leader within the production/test team, providing guidance and support to technicians and assemblersProvides structured training and mentoring to less experienced team membersAssists in coordinating test activities and priorities to meet production and quality targetsPromotes consistent application of test standards, troubleshooting methods, and best practicesDocumentation and MetricsMaintains accurate test records, logs, and documentation in accordance with quality requirementsMonitors key performance indicators such as test yield, failure trends, and throughputIdentifies trends and drives corrective actions to improve overall production performanceSupervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Technical Leadership – Serves as a go-to resource for complex technical issues and guides others in problem resolutionAdvanced Troubleshooting – Diagnoses and resolves high-complexity system issues across multiple subsystemsData Evaluation & Judgment – Interprets test data, identifies trends, and makes informed decisions impacting productionProcess Ownership – Takes responsibility for defined processes and drives improvements in execution and outcomesCross-Functional Collaboration – Works effectively across Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve issues and improve performanceQuality Ownership – Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all testing activitiesCommunication – Clearly communicates technical issues, findings, and recommendationsAccountability – Takes ownership of results, decisions, and follow-throughAdaptability & Dependability – Responds to changing priorities and consistently delivers resultsQualificationsIndividual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Computer, Language, and Reasoning Skills: Ability to enter and manage test data in computer systemsProficient in Excel for data analysis, trending, and reportingStrong ability to interpret technical documentation and apply judgment in complex scenariosOther Skills and AbilitiesStrong ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics and system diagramsHands-on experience with advanced diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes required; flow measurement preferred)Proven experience troubleshooting integrated electromechanical systemsDemonstrated ability to lead technical problem resolution and guide othersComfortable making independent decisions that impact product quality and production flowAbility to support cross-functional production needs as requiredOther QualificationsFollows all import/export and regulatory requirementsBasic knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 preferredFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies preferredSalary Range: $50,600.00-$67,500.000The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
