Full-time Police Officer Person(s) who wish to be considered for a Full Time Police Officer position must submit to the Chief of Police a letter of intent, an updated resume, and a completed Town of Lunenburg Employment Application by J une 30th, 2026 at 1500 hours. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age Must be a High School graduate or equivalent Possess a Valid Driver's license Possess a License to Carry a Firearm (LTC) Class A at the time of employment Possess basic computer skills Ability to write police reports Requirements Meet the certification requirements set forth by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POSTC), and Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Equivalent academy must meet the requirements and standards set by the MPTC Must be able to perform the essential functions of a police officer detailed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Human Resources Division for Massachusetts Police Officers Application Process Resume Town of Lunenburg Employment Application Any Certificates/Diplomas relating to prior police/law enforcement training or continuing education Employment Process Interview with a panel selected by the Lieutenant and the Chief of Police Interview with the Lieutenant and the Chief of Police Conditional Offer of Employment Pass Pre-employment Medical Examination Pass Psychological Examination Successfully complete the MPTC Entry-Level Fitness Standards Successfully complete the MPTC PAT if applicable Starting salary is in accordance with Local CBA, Article XXII Wages, plus a comprehensive benefit package. A one (1) year probationary period is required upon appointment to the full time position for a lateral transfer. A one (1) year probationary period upon successful completion of an MPTC Basic Recruit Academy for new hires without academy training. State law prohibits any person who has been convicted of a felony from being appointed as a Police Officer.
