Supply Chain Manager

Position Summary Direct Hire Opportunity with Full Benefits. Salary $100,000 - $140,000 per year. Job Details / Objective Responsible for all aspects of purchasing, production planning, scheduling, inventory and logistics within international operations and coordinating with other offices. Develops and executes plans to meet short‑term and long‑term supply‑chain management and production control requirements. Job Responsibilities Comply with all Quality System procedures and work instructions. Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers: negotiate best price, arrange discounts, establish favorable terms, resolve problems, and develop alternative suppliers. Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors: ensure manufacturing product specifications are followed, testing and inventory control procedures are in place, and assist in vendor/subcontractor evaluations. Inventory control: proactively handle shortages, build alternative supplier systems, monitor market and industry trends, maintain inventory reports, coordinate return material and finished‑goods logistics, track stock status, and procure materials to meet production schedules. Process client orders: review purchase orders for completeness, coordinate timely processing, manage open‑order schedules, enter orders into the MRP/ERP system, and plan raw materials for the supply chain. Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize space, equipment, material and people; stay informed of new manufacturing technologies and equipment; assist in reducing cost through re‑engineering. Work closely with R&D, QA, and maintenance personnel to prevent product and tooling problems, attend design reviews, and eliminate root causes of manufacturing errors. Maintain the supply‑chain database. Conduct standard cost evaluations and updates. Mentor others performing supply‑chain functions (order entry, returns, production scheduling, planning and shipping). Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations. Track project milestones, respond to and resolve financial project issues impacting success. Approve ECOs and temporary deviations; back up Manager Project Documentation (MPD). Set priorities to meet organizational and departmental goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems. These responsibilities focus on senior supply‑chain specialists. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Bachelor’s degree and five years of supply‑chain experience or equivalent; experience in engineering and/or manufacturing preferred. Advanced problem‑solving, analytical, data analysis, critical thinking, decision‑making and negotiation skills. Advanced knowledge of purchasing and inventory control principles. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi‑task. Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Experience with production/inventory control and ERP/MRP software. Excellent communication skills. Self‑starter; able to work under pressure with limited or no supervision. Ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors and co‑workers in a courteous and professional manner.
