What we can say: the products are real, they ship, and people use them every day.As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll build and maintain systems that servie as a critical link between physical hardware and backend services. You may write software that runs on embedded devices one day and scalable cloud services the next, requiring both breadth across systems and the ability to dive deep when needed.What You’ll Do:Design, build, and maintain software systems that span edge devices and cloud infrastructureDevelop and support software running on Raspberry Pi and similar embedded environmentsBuild scalable backend services using Python on AWSEnsure reliable data flow and system integration between hardware and cloud servicesMonitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues across hardware and software boundariesWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following engineering best practicesAdapt to changing priorities by contributing across software development, infrastructure, and hardware testing as neededWhat You Need:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldStrong proficiency in PythonExperience building or managing applications on AWSProven problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex, cross-disciplinary systemsBonus Qualifications:Experience with edge computing or embedded systems (Raspberry Pi, GPIO, Sensors)Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as TerraformExperience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databasesKnowledge of containerization technologies such as DockerWillingness to learn and work with additional languages or frameworks as needed (i.e. Rust)About The Team:AI Products is a roughly 100-person software org inside a company of aerospace engineers, and we expect to grow substantially over the next year.
