Part‑time Staff – Sign Language Interpreter – Weatherford Campus This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 and 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment. Position Summary: Employees in this title may work no more than fourteen (14) hours per week. Level 1 certification is required. Responsibilities and Duties Provide sign language interpreting services to students and personnel in collaboration with other full‑ and part‑time interpreters. Interpret in various settings including classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, tutoring, and extracurricular activities. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Certification through the state of Texas or the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, demonstrating fluency in American Sign Language and/or Signed English. Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice, and to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards. Preferred Certification from the Board of Evaluators for Interpreters. College training in interpreting or American Sign Language. Work Schedule Part‑time, up to fourteen (14) hours per week.
