The Production Lead takes ownership to ensure that the highest quality products are produced. The Line Lead provides support to Production Supervisors by leading and achieving business goals through superb people leadership on the shop floor, with responsibility for product safety, product quality, cost management, work safety, and compliance. The Lead is also responsible for executing production schedules.

Responsibilities include:
- Leading production work area with or without direct supervision.
- Supporting the supervisor with monitoring performance and attendance of team members and escalating if disciplinary action is needed.
- Ensuring attainment of projected yields and the timely and cost-effective manufacture of products and safe and sanitary conditions through effective monitoring, supervision and coordination of assigned equipment and personnel.
- Ensuring proper handling of waste and accurate documentation relative to waste disposal.
- Ensuring directives for optimum utilization of all assigned personnel and equipment on the production line.
- Ensuring team members' understanding of product.
- Creating crewing and rotation schedules under the supervision of Production Supervisors.
- Inspecting machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Ensuring that necessary ingredients, supplies, tools, equipment, and documentation are available for the next product run.
- Collaborating closely with QA to assure the product meets all specifications. Reporting to appropriate QA and Management if a change is needed to improve product quality.
- Reviewing safety and housekeeping on a regular basis and communicating areas of opportunity to employees. Being proactive in these areas and taking "real time" action to correct Safety and Housekeeping issues.
- Leading and championing the 5s program.
- Maintaining shift to shift relationships by communicating with each shift supervisor before the shift change to determine production needs and priorities. Conducting a short changeover meeting with the oncoming Lead to apprise him/her of operational status.
- Ensuring that new team members know their responsibilities and tasks and are trained and certified in all procedures.
- Coordinating team members meals and breaks.
- Studying production schedules and estimating worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Completing and reporting all accidents in the production area, even if it is a minor incident.
- Explaining company policies to team members and enforcing safety regulations.
- Compiling required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
- Leading by example by communicating in a positive, respectful and collaborative manner. Coaching and helping team members to excel in their assigned tasks. Exemplifying our culture of inclusiveness, dignity, respect, and fun!
Qualifications include:
- Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work 3rd shift.
- Must be PQG (Product, Quality, Guarantee).
- Manufacturing or Food Handling industry knowledge.
- Ability to read and understand Product Specifications.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Industrial Technical or Machinery experience.
- Basic hand tool knowledge.
- Basic computer skills including Outlook and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and People Safety policies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to read, write and communicate in English and Spanish is preferred.
