If you enjoy solving problems, working with technology, and helping others get the most out of their tools, apply today and make an impact across Sarasota County!About the PositionIn this role, you will...Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 hardware, software, connectivity, and technology service requestsProvide onsite technical support across County facilities while operating an assigned County vehiclePrepare, configure, deploy, replace, and support computers and peripherals as part of technology refresh and deployment programsCollaborate with EIT teams and escalate complex or high-priority issues as neededCreate, maintain, and update technical documentation, knowledge articles, and support procedureParticipate in EIT projects and technology implementations, including testing, deployment, documentation, and trainingProvide onsite technical support for priority incidents, operational needs, and other EIT activitiesParticipate in the 24/7/365 on-call rotationMaintain and expand technical knowledge through training, research, and self-directed learningOperate and maintain an assigned County vehicleAbout the ScheduleWork Hours:Full-time, 40 hours per week.Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Involved in on-call technical support rotation with other Desktop Support staffAs a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergencyAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you must have the following:Two (2) year degree -AND- Two (2) years of work experience as a desktop support technician or related role-OR- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, Management, Business, Engineering, Communications, Project Management or other relevant field with some related experience-OR- Four (4) years of related work experience may substitute for the formal education requirement at the discretion of managementValid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hireThe ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:Microsoft 365 CertifiedModern Desktop Administrator Associate or equivalent CompTIA A+ CertifiedExperience with Dell computers, monitors and peripherals (hardware & software)Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.Physical Demands: Employees in this role must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
